Focus on what matters to you.

My Approach

Feel Supported.

As you know, life can be complicated, painful and messy. We all have experiences that can be difficult to navigate alone and times when we would benefit from extra support. There might be times when we know the changes we want to make but may not completely understand what is getting in the way of making those changes. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable to voice what is really on our mind because we fear being judged or feel ashamed. We will work together to create a space in which you feel comfortable exploring unfulfilled areas of your life.

Understand and Reflect.

Family, friends, culture(s), intergenerational history, and society condition how we think and the biases we have, what we are allowed to feel and express, and how we are supposed to behave. Sometimes the things we have learned along the way have been incredibly helpful to us; and at the same time, some of the ingrained ways of responding and thinking can create challenges for us. While keeping the sociocultural context in mind, we will explore any underlying patterns and beliefs that are no longer serving you. We will deepen our understanding of challenges by approaching reactions and automatic ways of responding with curiosity.

Make Meaningful Change.

Meaningful change is about improving areas of your life in ways that are important to you. It can involve identifying your options, clarifying your roles in situations, experimenting with a different approach, establishing boundaries, communicating more effectively, changing the way that you respond to certain situations, and/or accepting the reality of what you are experiencing. With a diverse therapeutic background, I tailor my approach to help you reach your individual goals.
